The Adventures Of Darren And Peat

Post  5qu33 on Mon Mar 17, 2008 12:51 pm

At about 10:30 this morning I got a text from Peat saying he was in Hong Kong, so I guess Darren's there too, Peat-san say's flying is boring.

Will post more when I get it.

They should be there soon. Lucky bastards.

Heard they got to Oz ok, but nothing more. My life is shit. I am boyfriendless. Have loads of work to do, and no-one to distract me from doing it.

Wish I'd decided to go to Australia instead of uni. Gays.

Got a call from peat this morning (it's night time now, I couldn't be fucked to write earlier).

He said there all sun burnt

And that he saw "A big fucking lizard".

But I always thought Godzilla hung out in Japan, shows what I know. =P

I had to actually do stuff today coz I had no distractions, bum-holes.

They'll be at that festival by now wouldn't they?!? I think. =/

ah, jealous jealous jealous! still, good to get some news, beginning to think they might have been abducted and taken to the outback, where no-one could hear them scream- like in that film, Wolf Creek. If you haven't seen that- watch it now- it'll make you terrified for Darren/Pete's safety.

yeah, distractionless life is pretty much gay.

hello everyone!!!!
We're in Byron Bay...
going to the festival today, tomorrow and tomorrows tomorrow (saturday, sunday and monday).
bedouin soundclash, beautiful girls, cat empire, happy days Very Happy

we're thinking of staying in Byron for a week, it's lush... sea is warm, sand is gorgeous...

so far we've seen sydney beaches, camped in the bush, where we saw a wallaby and an iguana, drove for ages to get up north for the festival, stopping at Coffs Harbour and then just outside Casino to sleep... and got to byron yesterday, where we hit the beach...the vans battery light came on yesterday, don't know what that means, but we should be fine Very Happy

love to you all
hope UK is as good as Aus, but i doubt it

UPDATE NUMBER 2

Hello... we've just had a weekend at the festival Very Happy was fantastic..
saw lots of new talent, one of which is Guy Davis, you should check him out, sings a good song about being a chocolate man...
Bedouin Soundclash were good, unfortunately not a very full tent.. but good none the less
John Butler played a show stopper, was fantastic, probably about 3000 people in the tent going mad.. he played on his own, i almost took off when he played oceans, everyone was mad...
Beautiful Girls were also good, but not as impressed as i thought i'd be...
There was a really interesting guy who played drums, piano, and mixed stuff all together called Gotye, another interesting one to check out..
Cat Empire were fantastic as always.. but this time even better, if that's possible.. 13 people on stage, including a string quartet!!!! me and peat got two rows from the front, absolutely incredible..
Saw a really good slide-guitarist/songwriter in a really small tent called Jason Lowe, who you should check out too, if there is anything by him about..
Yesterday we saw Newton Faulkner who was fantastic and we met him after, twas sweet... we also saw Rodrigo y Gabriela, who put on a fantastic show... a new band who you should all check out called Angus and Julia Stone... i am in love with Julia Stone!!!
It was a fantastic festival and atmosphere and to top it all WE SAW A KOALA!!!!!!!!
Other good people include: Juzzie Smith, eMDee, The Black Crows, Hollie Smith, True Live, Bridget Pross, Mamadou Diabate,
Hope you are all good in the hood/snow Very Happy

Peat wrang home. says he's at the end of ti tree place, the link below is a pic from google earth that I saved in photobucket coz I don't no how to put a pic on the forum.

http://illiweb.com/fa/pbucket.gif

He said they were at the end of the street, but I don't know what end, sorry.

He did say where they were going to go next but I think I must have been thinking about squirrals or something because I forgot what he said.

He did say that they'd been body boarding in byron bay because they had some good waves, the festival was ace and that they had lots of beer left to drink. =D lucky mo-fo

We did talk more but it was mostly about music so I won't bore you with that.

Sounds like you guys are having an ace time, glad to hear it! I think me and Shona might go to Canada, I met this really cool Canadian couple and the guy plays for the Wildcats. He's ace, came to football with me and I'm going out with him tonight and his girlfriend invited us back with them. Would be fun, although I think Canada is really cold?!

Hey everyone!!! Hope to see you in Australia soon Very Happy still having a sweet time!!!

We've been all around north south in the last few days been quite hectic, but we're back in Brisbane to see Matt Costa tonight...

We went to Surfers Paradise the day after my last post, which was ok, but pretty windy so we didnt stay at the beach, we played football all day...which was good fun..
we needed to find somewhere to stay, so we asked some hippy type people in a camper van if they knew any free places.. they gave us the name of one, but just as we were driving to it,they flagged us down and offered us an 5* appartment for the night for free, asking gets you EVERYWHERE!!! We had a good meal in the Thai Restraunt and slept there for the night with warm showers and everything..
That was good fun.. the next day we went up north to Brighton, realised that was rubbish, so went to Margate and some other English named places, had a BBQ and then asked some more Campervan types for a free place to rest, we got a car park right by the beach, was pretty good... we even got told that "Jesus died for our sins" so we relaxed and drank in our van... then slept..
now we're in Brisbane...
Talk to you cats soon as, we got a laptop now so we may be able to get online a bit more.....xx
